Our campus partners are institutions at UW that support the LGBT Campus Center's mission.
Dean of Students Office (DoSO)
The DoSo is committed to championing a respectful, globally engaged and diverse university community, and believes the LGBT CC is a critical component of that mission, just as LGBTQ and allied students are critical components of the fabric of our university community.
DoSo is proud to support UW-Madison LGBTQ and allied students as they navigate the university, discover and nurture their convictions, passions, and interests, and fully engage in the Wisconsin Experience.
Division of University Housing
University Housing is committed to ensuring that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer and Ally students feel safe, included, and welcome in their Residence Hall Communities. Each year there are two students who serve as LGBT liaisons, they provide resources to all students on LGBT issues in the residence halls. These students work to ensure that every residence hall is safe and inclusive for LGBT students, host social events for LGBT students and allies on a regular basis and provide emotional support to LGBT students.
McBurney Disability Resource Center
The McBurney Center’s mission is to utilize their expertise in disability and higher education and work in partnership with the University of Wisconsin community to deliver innovative and high quality services and classroom accommodations to UW students with disabilities.
Multicultural Student Center
The Multicultural Student Center (MSC) is a unit of the Division of Student Life. In keeping with the Center’s historic legacy, the primary mission of the Multicultural Student Center is to collaboratively strengthen and sustain an inclusive campus where all students, particularly students of color and other historically underserved students, are engaged and can realize an authentic Wisconsin Experience.
Office of the Provost
The provost works closely with deans and faculty, staff and student committees on shared governance of the UW. The provost's office has been a successful advocate for domestic partnership benefits.
Office for the Vice Provost for Diversity and Climate
The Vice Provost for Diversity and Climate provides leadership to ensure that staff and student diversity and climate issues are addressed. They also administer campus nondiscrimination laws.
UW Police (UWPD)
The UWPD has been an active ally on issues of concern for the LGBTQ campus community, including investigating reports of LGBTQ-related harassment and hate crimes whenever they arise.
In addition to many officers and detectives identifying as allies, UWPD has a number of out gay and lesbian officers who serve as LGBT Liaisons. Say hello to them when they stop by the campus center and at events around campus!
