Student Experience Programs

LGBT First Year Experience Program

What is the LGBT First Year Experience (FYE) Program?

This program connects Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender & Ally first year students with LGBTA resources on campus, supports their academic and social adjustment to campus life, and fosters leadership development and involvement that affirms their LGBTA identity.

This program is for queer, questioning and ally students who want to meet new people and participate in fun, FREE lgbt social events! These free events connect students with important information about LGBT life on UW's campus, offer endless opportunities for participants to meet other LGBTA students, and create opportunities for self-exploration!

Why get involved with the LGBTA First Year Experience Program?

  • Make new friends and meet other LGBTA first year students.
  • Learn about various students organizations and how to get involved.
  • learn about yourself and develop confidence.
  • Become more familiar with the UW Campus and its LGBTA services.
  • Gain support while adjusting academically.

The LGBT First Year Experience Program sponsors several events throughout the semester, including socials, resource and involvement fairs, monthly programs, and queer alternative break trips.

LGBT Senior Year Experience Program

The LGBT Campus Center's "Senior Year Experience" program is designed to assist senior year students as they prepare to make the transition from college to a world beyond the university. Through social and educational programs students will have the opportunity to receive helpful tips and tools to assist them in maneuvering through the working world as an LGBT person. Some of the programs consist of career services, educational workshops, and alumni functions.
