Trainings & Workshops

The Campus Center offers a variety of educational trainings for groups of students, faculty, and staff across campus. Trainings can be adapted to fit your group size and learning objectives. Please contact Gabe Javier at gjavier@studentlife.wisc.edu to arrange a training.

Being an Ally to LGBTQ communities

The LGBT CC Ally Training is designed to increase your capacity to build and sustain inclusive environments for LGBTQ people. The three-hour training builds on our natural ally behaviors towards learning how we can make durable, sustainable change in our communities by being proactive bystanders, recognizing a wide array of homophobia in our own lives, and reflecting on our power and privilege.

Contact Gabe Javier at gabe.javier@wisc.edu for more information or to request a training for your group or department.

Beyond the Binary: Gender Identity/Expression 101

This 90-minute training aims to educate the UW campus community about what gender is and how we express it in our daily lives. Participants will leave with a toolkit of how to make their classrooms, residence halls, and other community spaces more inclusive of a variety of gender identities and expressions.

Contact Katherine Charek Briggs at katherine.charekbriggs@wisc.edu for more information or to request a training for your group or department.
